Description
Create a more substantial baseboard assembly with the MC140 Estates Base Cap. Its 11/16″ × 2 3/8″ profile brings decorative height to the upper edge, making it a distinctive choice for traditional and Colonial interiors. Pair it with compatible baseboards to give dining rooms, bedrooms, and living spaces a more detailed architectural finish.
When planning your combination, consider the proportions of the complete assembly. Leave enough of the baseboard visible below the cap to balance its decorative detail, and check how the finished profile meets door trim. For an existing baseboard upgrade, use a 4-inch sample to assess the fit along the upper edge and the projection at corners and doorways before ordering full lengths.
The primed finger joint pine makes this profile a practical option for painted trim. Using the same paint color and sheen across the baseboard and cap helps the pieces read as a single design. A soft white can complement a classic interior, while a color closer to the walls creates a quieter effect that still lets the moulding’s contours show.
For a shorter alternative, compare the MC141 Regal Base Cap, which measures 3/4″ × 1 5/8″. The Regal is slightly thicker, so compare both height and projection when deciding which profile works best with your surrounding woodwork.
