Description
WindsorONE 1×4 Trim Board
If a house has exterior casing, there is a good chance it is 1×4. WindsorONE 1×4 measures 3/4″ thick by 3 1/2″ wide, and it is built for window and door casing, corner boards and rake trim.
It arrives primed, so the only finishing left on site is topcoat. Mould, rot and insects all fall inside the 30 year warranty. The finger jointed construction keeps it straight, and being real wood it takes a nail without predrilling.
It comes in S4SSE, smooth on four sides, and S1S2E, which has a rough sawn face and eased edges. Net size is identical.
It runs in 16ft and 20ft lengths rather than the 8ft and 16ft used across the rest of our boards.
Cut ends need priming, and it is the step most often skipped.
It is 3/4″, the same as most solid wood trim, so mixing it with 1×4 boards causes no alignment problem. For a different width, WindsorONE 1×3 is the next size down and WindsorONE 1×5 the next size up. See the board size guide if you want the nominal against actual comparison in full.
Casing is the most visible trim on a facade, which is why the primed finish matters more here than anywhere.
