Description
The MC875 RE Stop provides a simple, functional finishing detail for interior doorways. Its 7/16″ × 1 5/8″ profile fits along the sides and head of the jamb, creating the surface the closed door rests against. The understated design works alongside both plain and decorative door casings, making it easy to coordinate the opening with your room’s existing woodwork.
For a painted doorway, finishing the stop and jamb in the same color and sheen creates a consistent appearance. When replacing damaged or mismatched stop moulding, compare the new profile’s width and thickness with the existing pieces, particularly if you are replacing only part of the surround. A 4-inch sample can help you check the fit and appearance before purchasing full lengths.
Positioning matters as much as the profile you choose. Check the stop with the door closed and make sure the door can latch freely before securing it permanently. Allow for the finish coats so the completed assembly does not fit too tightly.
If you need a narrower option, compare the MC876 RE Stop, which measures 7/16″ × 1 3/8″. You can also browse our stop mouldings to find a profile that suits your doorway’s dimensions and detailing.
