Description
 WindsorONE 5/4×6 Trim Board
A window stool has to carry weight, take knocks and shed water, which is why tradition puts it in 5/4 rather than 1x. WindsorONE 5/4×6 measures 1 1/16″ thick by 5 1/2″ wide, and it is built for window stools, rail caps, water table and bench tops.
It is finger jointed from real wood rather than composite, so it cuts, nails and holds a screw like timber. Should it rot or suffer insect damage inside 30 years, the warranty covers it. Priming is done at the mill, three coats of acrylic latex, faces and edges alike.
Available S4SSE for a flat painted look and S1S2E where a sawn texture is wanted.
It runs 1 1/16″, so it will stand slightly proud of a 1″ MDF 5/4x. Check against 5/4×6 boards. If you need more or less face, WindsorONE 5/4×5 is the next size down and WindsorONE 5/4×8 the next size up. If you are comparing materials, the board size guide puts this next to our other boards.
Round or bullnose the front edge before installing. It sheds water better and stops the primer wearing off the arris.
