Description
WindsorONE 2×4 Trim Board
This is where people get caught out. It is called a 2×4 but it is not the 2×4 from the framing pile. WindsorONE 2×4 measures 1 7/16″ thick by 3 1/2″ wide, and it is built for heavy casing, post wraps, pergola members and beam trim.
It is wood, finger jointed for stability, so none of the usual PVC compromises apply. You are buying it primed, which removes a full day from most trim schedules. Rot, insect damage and mould are covered for 30 years.
Take S4SSE for crisp painted trim, or S1S2E when matching older rough sawn work.
Treat every saw cut as a new surface that needs primer.
It measures 1 7/16″, a sixteenth under framing stock, which matters if it meets structural timber. See 2×4 boards. If the width is not right, WindsorONE 2×2 is the next size down and WindsorONE 2×6 the next size up. Check the board size guide if you need to match an existing board.
If it is going next to structural 2×4, hold a piece of each together first. The 1/16 inch will show at the joint.
